Back Country Horsemen of Washington (BCHW), is a 501 (c) (3) organization with 32 chapters across the state dedicated to: keeping trails open for all users; educating horse users in Leave-No-Trace practices; and providing volunteer service to resource agencies.

Would you like to get a sneak peak at new trail projects? How about meet new people and contribute to the trail community?
The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office is looking for two volunteers with experience in equestrian trail riding to join committees that evaluate and rank new trail projects, helping to decide which proposals get funded.
The Nonhighway and Off-road Vehicle Activities (NOVA) Advisory Committee reviews projects for motorized and nonmotorized trails, off-road vehicle areas, and education and enforcement. The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Advisory Committee reviews projects that renovate and maintain backcountry trails. Volunteers with expertise in equestrian riding, project design or management, and planning are encouraged to apply. Volunteers serve 4 years with the work occurring in the even-numbered years.
